1. Empieza con una cola de caballo.

2-3. Toma el hulito o la cola y jala el pelo atravez hasta la mitad

4. Dale vuelta a la cola al otro lado y repite, dejando unas 3 pulgadas sobrando.

5. Toma las puntas y metelas en medio, sujeta con ganchitos sandinos. y Ya tienes un cute Bow!

Solo necesitas :
Globos (que puedes encontrar en cualquier super mercado)
Unas ollitas para baño maria
Papel wax ( que tambien puedes encontrar en cualquier super mercado)
Tea candles (estas velitas que se usan para manualidades)
y parafina

1. Derrite la parafina en el baño Maria
2. Llena los globos con agua tibia y sumerjelos en la parafina
3. Deja secar la parafina tomando la forma del globo (esto tardara solo unos segundos)
4. Revienta el Globo! pon la Tea candle y listo!

Un ambiente muy agradable... :)

Water Marble nails!

Water Marble Tutorial.
Supplies: orange stick or toothpick, shot glass or cup (the smaller the circumference, the less polish you end up wasting), room temp. water, nail polish, tape (optional, but it helps with the clean up)

I like to begin by prepping my nails with base coat and one coat of polish. Here I used China Glaze Innocence for a nice neutral base.

Steps:
1. Fill your cup with some warm or room temperature water. If the water is too cold, the nail polish will seize up.

2. Choose the polishes you want to work with; keep in mind the opacity of the polish you are using, if its too sheer, it might not look right.

3. I like to begin with the lightest color. Load up the brush and let a big drop of polish fall into the water. Continue with the other colors until you have a few concentric circles of polish in the water.

4. Using the toothpick or orange stick, drag through the polish from the edge toward the middle. Continue to drag the stick through the polish until you find a design that you think looks pretty.

5. Optional: tape around the edge of the nail to protect your finger from becoming covered with nail polish. Scotch tape works perfectly for this.

6. Holding your finger horizontally, dip your fingernail into the glass, making sure it is completely submerged.

7. Use the toothpick/orange stick to trace around your finger, gathering up all the unused nail polish in the glass.

8. Lift your finger out of the glass, and let dry before taking the tape off.

9. Continue with your other nails until you have a full set of beautifully water marbled nails.

10. Slick on your favorite top coat and Voila! All done!

Most importantly, have fun! As with any type of nail art, practice makes perfect, so don’t get discouraged if you don’t get it right the first time.

Alejandro Solorzano es Amante de las contradicciones, el joven estudiante de la Universidad José Matías Delgado concibe "Sun Light". Colección dominada por el blanco, de líneas definidas y siluetas que se contradicen. "... La conceptualización parte de la luz blanca y de cómo ésta se descompone. Esto me dio una paleta cromática muy variada", explica el artista de 25 años. Con esta propuesta, Alejandro Solórzano exhibio su creatividad en la pasarela ecléctica KLDSCP 2011, espectáculo que considera fue una gran oportunidad para dar a conocer a los talentos nacionales.
"La industria de la moda en el país está desarrollándose. Eventos como KLDSCP permiten que los diseñadores crezcan y con ellos crecerá la industria del diseño de moda en el país", añadió.
Ya en 2007, los diseños de Solórzano fueron parte de Centro América Moda. Con anterioridad, estudió diseño gráfico en la Universidad Don Bosco.Evento KLDSCP 2011, pasarela ecléctica. A beneficio de programas educativos del Museo de Arte de El Salvador (Marte)

El Campeonato Mundial de Baristas (WBC) es la competencia actual barista de primer nivel, con los ganadores de cada campeonato nacional de baristas (o un competidor de otro modo nombrado) que compiten por el título mundial. Los competidores preparan y sirven 12 bebidas de café - 4 espresso, 4 capuchinos y 4 bebidas de marca (no permitidas de alcohol) para 4 jueces. Hay dos rondas, la primera ronda preliminar y la segunda ronda final, con los seis primeros clasificados. Este año se llevo a cabo en Bogota, Colombia (Mayo 30-Junio 6)

Cuando nos casamos mi esposo y yo decidimos decorar con los colores blanco y negro nuestra sala...pensamos que era muy moderno y pintamos una pared negra y las otras blancas, cortinas negras, etc pero hace 5 años nos costo mucho encontrar articulos dentro de nuestro presupuesto con estos colores y ademas la casa era muy pequeña y aqui el El Salvador no les recomiendo decorar con negro en una casa pequeña y cerrada..porque tendran una gran invacion de zancudos!
Asi que decidimos darnos por vencidos y ahora nuestra casa luce el color chocolate (Mi Favorito! )
Pero aca les dejo un poco de inspiracion solo asegurence de tener un espacio amplio y con mucha Luz!

Fabulosas Luminarias que puedes hacer tu misma para decorar ! Dandole un nuevo uso a esos mantelitos de crochet que tanto me recuerdan a mi abuelita. Eco & moderno!
Lo unico que necesitas es un globo, pegamento blanco, y los mantelitos de crochet!

1. coloca los mantelitos en una superficie plana

2. cubrelos con una combiancion de pegamento blanco y agua

3.Infla el globo de aire del tamaño que quieras la Luminaria

4. Cubre el globo con los mantelitos de crochet untados en pegamento y deja secar

5. Cuando ya este completamente seco revienta el globo!

6. y Voila!!!

Kaleidoscopio a Fashion Show!

Last night 5 Salvadorian designers showed us in a baby step the huge potencial and the big talent this little country is growing! yet I say baby step because as much as I would like to tell everybody how impress I was, there were just a few details that the production missed (but what the hell do I know? I´m not a designer... yet *-)
but the TALENT is truly there!

and it started with Designer Lidia Madrid, a Salvadorian living in Houston Tx.

and I hope that last nights success doesn´t go to her head, being humble keeps you classy :)

What Colorful happy place this is!
Located in Ahuachapan, right after Apaneca you will find this colorful, beautiful, peaceful little town.
Ataco se encuentra en la zona central del departamento de Ahuachapán, compartiendo la zona montañosa del centro del departamento. Está limitado al Norte por Ahuachapán; al Oeste por Tacuba; al Este por Apaneca y San Pedro Puxtla; al Sur por Jujutla y Guaymango. Recorrer Ataco, es como regresar en el tiempo, sus fiestas patronales son celebradas del 11 al 15 de diciembre en honor a la Virgen de Concepción. En este poblado todavía podemos ver algunas de sus calles empedradas, un legado de la colonia. La población nativa de Ataco aun guarda muchas de las costumbres y tradiciones de los abuelos, que pasa de generación a generación por medio de tradición oral, preservando hasta ahora un poco de nuestra cultura nahua.

The place is beautiful and so peaceful, the weather is amazing you can feel a cool brezee with the sunshine touching your skin, the streets are filled with Colorful cafe´s, Art galeries, craft stores and small hotels with so many things to see, do and to eat! the food was great, there are a lot of different restaurants, from french cousine, italian, spanish and best of all the traditional food from Ataco!

Telares de Ataco, I ♥ this place so much you can se how they make their color fabrics the old fashion way and the amazing colors they use in their beautiful pieces!

What I love the most about Misha Lulu is that Grandma Chol makes all the knitted stuff and Abuelita Balnquita hand paints all the aprons :)
As Karen is isnpired by her family I relate to her because I'm also very inspired and influence by my grandmother who was a dress maker so her passion for sewing has now become my passion as well.

architect Jose Roberto Paredes design the house for his family of four—was simply too difficult to build, they said. "People kept quitting," recalls Paredes, whose blueprints included oddly angled concrete walls and floor-to-ceiling glass panels. "In our country, any move away from conventional methods is sure to cause chaos." the architect is used to converting skeptics. When he founded his design studio in San Salvador four years ago, he named it Cincopatasalgato, from a popular Spanish expression meaning "five paws on a cat"—a metaphor for searching for the impossible. Fortunately, Paredes's wife, an advertising creative director, shares his adventurous spirit. The couple had been living with their two daughters (Pilar is del Cid's child from her first marriage) and fantasizing about a place where they could spread out when they discovered the perfect property, about 15 minutes away: a lush slope with views to the nearby Pacific, where they love to swim and surf. Paredes and del Cid chose the site for their house because of its natural beauty, so it made sense to design one that made the most of it. Every window and every angle are positioned so they can enjoy the show. The house's topsy-turvy shape, inspired by abstract sculptures, consists of a large platform encompassing loftlike living and dining areas that are supported by two small cubes on the ground level, where the bedrooms are. A proponent of green design, Paredes used a lot of sustainable materials, from recycled-fiber cement panels on the roof to renewable teak doors. The house stays cool without air conditioning, thanks to glass walls that can be tilted open to capture the breezes. "We wanted to touch the treetops, see the birds feeding, feel nature inside the house," he says. The openness not only keeps the family in nearly constant view of one another, but it exposes the workings of the lively household to anyone who walks up the driveway. Reactions to the architecture tend to be extreme, from disapproving tsks from the family's black-shawled matrons to raves from Pilar's teenage friends to general puzzlement from the neighbors. "We don't mind if they stare," del Cid says with a shrug. "We just make sure to wear our good pajamas."

Ludwig Mies van der Rohe (German) , along with Walter Gropius and Le Corbusier, is widely regarded as one of the pioneering masters of modern architecture. He was born in Switzerland and became a French citizen in his 30s. Frank Lloyd Wright was always the first one on the list, (June 8, 1867 – April 9, 1959) He was an American architect, interior designer, writer and educator, who designed more than 1,000 projects, promoted organic architecture and developed the concept of the Usonian home. His work includes original and innovative examples of many different building types, including offices, churches, schools, hotels, and museums. Wright also often designed many of the interior elements of his buildings, such as the furniture and stained glass. His style an architecture that evolves naturally out of the context, most importantly for him the relationship between the site and the building and the needs of the client.
Wright was recognized in 1991 by the American Institute of Architects as "the greatest American architect of all time".
He is mostly famous for Fallingwater

Christian Lacroix Paris Apartment

Christian Lacroix is selling his seventeenth-century apartment in the Parisian neighborhood, Le Marais and if I had $2.6 million dollars I would buy it a second. He is not one of my favorite designers but I do admire his work. The apartment is 2,150-square-foot. In addition to a 200 square-foot courtyard, the apartment has four bedrooms, a mezzanine library and recently renovated bathrooms and kitchen.

to what this blog is about! This picture left me breathless...
One of the first churches in the country. It's construction ended at the beginning of the 1600 and it was a respond from the spanish conquistadors coming from Guatemala due to the large number of Indians who inhabited the area and with the pourpose of catechize. It was founded around a city, right next to the Chortis indigenous settlements . Years later, the city was destroyed due to a hurracane that overflowded surrounding the river and then the people decided to move above in Metapán. Today the locals call it "La Portada" and that is only because the facade was built with Calicanto and the rest with mud and bajareque.

I have an amazing husband who leaves me speechless everytime he looks at me, I admire him for all the things he does for me; I have an incredible loving family, that spoils me every chance they get; I have great, loyal, and funky friends who have been there trough the great, the good, the bad, the ugly and the worst; I have a gorgous dog that won't leave my side; I have Admirers; I have nice boobs; I have a good job that has given me great coworkers that I can call friends and a little bit of free time to be able to write this post.

I took my nephew, my hubby and my 2 best friends to the Zoo last sunday and this are some of the animals we saw, th Zoo is supposed to be remodel... but they just have a few new signs and the animals have a new fence.. apart from that not much has change. Unfortunately the Zoo is very small and there aren't that many animals... but it was great to see the famous Manyula again!

My dad's familiy is from el "Departamento de Usulutan" the state of Usulutan, he was born in the little but so beautiful and peaceful town of "Alegria" which means Joy! we go from time to time to visit my grandmother who still leaves there right infront of the park, in the middle of the town.the weather is cool all year around, the town used to profit mostly from coffee, my dad inherited a couple of "Fincas de cafe" but when the price of the coffee dropped down about 10 years ago he had to sell them. My grandmother owns one of the most famous flower shops in Alegria, she is even famous outside Alegria, there have been several articles written about her and her shop in the National newspapers, she sales a great variety of plants! I love staying at her house because is one of the oldest houses in the town with the patio in the middle and those wood burning kitchens.- I don't have the words to describe how beautiful and peaceful is this town, and clean! is amazing, so let me share a few pictures from this peace of heaven in El Salvador.

In Alegria you will also find the famous "Laguna de Alegria". the story goes like this: there is a beautiful mermaid that lives in the Laguna that kidnappes really cute young guys and they are never to be seen again..
Unfortunately there have been several real cases where males have disappeared swimming in the lagoon... and that's how the story of the mermaid was born...
When we go visit my grandmother we always have lunch at the lagoon, there are picnic tables around it and trees and flowers and you can hear exotic birds singing.

I think this guy is one of the lucky ones that won't disappeared! ajaj.

I remember when I was a little girl my brothers, my friends from the neighborhood and myself used to dressed up and used go trick or treating around the neighborhood! all the neighbors were ready with loads of candy! but yes that was years ago.. then I guess the economy and other issues affected the country because now not a single kid is going trick or treating in my old neighborhood... the tradition is practically over in El Salvador, you still see halloween decorations on sale in supermarkets and some nightclubs do have halloween parties and offer a price for the best custom.. but is not a big deal anymore... my hubby and friends gave me a surprise custom party for my birthday and everybody was dressed up! (it was so much fun!) a couple of years ago ..but it's over now...how sad.. :( But I love holidays so I'm celebrating Halloween here! yeeeyy! :)

sometimes i think to myself "why in the world did he pick me to marry? of all the girls, of all the times i gave him a reason to leave, of all the good catches out there,

Last Saturday, I wanted to go out so we went out…
Sunday, I wanted cereal & he got me cereal…

He apologizes even when it’s my fault…

He just smiles when I get bored and cut off my dogs hair…
He supports me in every crazy idea I get like making the red monster that he sleeps with in the picture above…

He listens and comforts me whenever I loose my mind, when I cry about something awful in a slight (almost) quarter life crisis kind of way as I have panic attacks about life and my future.
He makes me such a better person and helps me to always do the right thing.
He is always there for me when I’m super grumpy and I can’t even stand myself...
I can’t help but silently word, "thank you" to my heavenly father for him.

Beach Houses

My parents used to have a house on the beach years ago, it was designed by my dad but he is actually more of an engineer than an architect so you could just see about 4 rooms lined next to each other with a bathroom in the middle which a HUGE swimming pool in the front. The beach houses here in El Salvador usually look more like country houses than actual beach houses I guess it has to do with security since burglars are everywhere and very popular... here are a few I found just to show you what I'm talking about.

Hazel is an old friend of mine and her father is famous artist "El Aleph", his amazing paintings can be found around the world, here is a little bit about him and his work:

Alex Sánchez (“El Aleph”) was born March 10th, 1954, in the tiny and picturesque town of Moncagua, Province of San Miguel, El Salvador. His primary school and high school studies were completed in a rural school in his home town. His drawing and painting studies were performed at Centro Nacional de Artes de San Salvador (National Arts Center of San Salvador). Aleph’s childhood was quiet and happy. His first encounters with drawing and art happened in his own home. His grandmother shared with him the beauty of sunsets and the first lights of daybreak. The drawings of nature inspired the young artist. The clouds and the amazing colors of the rainbow after the morning storms. The huge arc pinned on the limits of the horizon. With fertile imagination and the curiosity that only children posess, Aleph observed simple household utensils: utensils handcrafted with black clay from Guatajiagua (small town in El Salvador), pitchers, vases, mugs, and tin lamps. The grinding stone, the burners, and the comal (clay dish for tortillas).

My friend Mo & I went to this fabulous store that opened recently they have great furniture and everything else you need to decorate your place. Since they just open they don't have as much as I thought they did but they are definitely getting there. I personally loved these giraffe paintings; they have inspired me to do some paintings of my own... soon… This is one of the pictures I took… I was king of scare to take more because I can feel the not so nice stares of the employees when I took this one… :P

Forever21 is one of my favorite stores for 3 little simple reasons: the clothes are a lot less expensive, it's colorful and fresh!
There clothes make me feel light as a feather and pretty :)
and most of all you can actually buy stuff without being in the United States, you can use your Salvadorian credit card, have the items deliver to an adress in the States and then have someone mail it to you here in El Salvador. :) here are a few items I found that I really like:
